By failing Slade's command to destroy the team, she returned to him, only to be beaten by him in anger. To Deathstroke, Damian's willingness to kill and torture villains is admirable. Deathstroke initially has the upper hand against Damian, but the tides turn when the Titans fight to capture both of them. Damian uses the distraction to slash Deathstroke in the back.
Then, just as Damian prepares to land a killing blow on Deathstroke, Red Arrow blocks Damian's sword with her bow. As someone who has killed Deathstroke before, Red Arrow assures Damian that killing will wreck him more than he thinks.
Deathstroke uses the ensuing chaos to flee the scene. Though dramatic, this reveal is not surprising. Deathstroke has always believed in survival of the fittest and that Dick's strict adherence to a moral code was more a sign of weakness than strength.
